Destination: Inner Space
there seems to be this weird rush to go out to space which is really pretty empty, everything is so far away and dangerous to try to get to, and since it is possible to go out there they will bring their politics and religions with them like the diseases and suffering Columbus brought to the new world, we are at an evolutionary state that requires forgetting about space, if we need a new world because we mismanaged this one into the ground then why would we let corporations move their infinite growth model to a pristine new planet to do the same, we need to forget about space and rethink or better yet reinvent life right here on earth, lets get this right instead of destroying it and moving on, especially since not everyone gets to go to the new worlds, give us earthlings left behind a chance to enjoy something once the elite leave it to die.
what were all religious masters, monks, meditators, and spiritual seekers doing for countless centuries? were they obsessed with outer space? obviously not, they were the great explorers of inner space, they closed their eyes controlled their breath and went ever inward, those who have experienced it know that inner space is far more vast and full of magic than outer space, instead of a rocket just grab a flute inhale and follow the tone to magic, it really is much safer and more affordable and environmentally conscious than strapping yourself into a tin can loaded with liquid explosives in an uncomfortable suit you hope can keep you alive and hoping the engineers “got it all right”, I would much rather light a scented candle, dim the lights, get into a quiet space with comfortable clothes and close my eyes from distractions and create the soundscape of my soul on the atmosphere that connects us all knowing full well that the instant I put the flute down all that I have created will cease to exist, a real “you had to be there” moment, within that temporary transcendental timeless place you can find a much better world right here on earth, corporations will fight for rights to resources we cant even get to while the beginning breeze benders and wizardly wind weavers of this world are already familiar with other worlds and instead of fighting for the rights we just want to freely share our experience with anyone who is interested.
to really explore outer space you need to know trajectories, fuel requirements, and gravitational fields down to exact degrees with little to no margin of error, to explore inner space you just need to close you eyes and you are already well on your way, to make it back alive you simply open your eyes, how beautiful is that? what places will you find, who will you share the soundscapes of your soul with, you dont even need to have a flute, just go on spotify or youtube and type in hariprasad chaurasia: truly mesmerizing or finesse on flute, close your eyes keep them closed and go on a journey you will never forget, no need to risk your life, you will be transported to a place of real magic, real emotion, real inspiration, you will want to go back again and again, and its okay… you can, as often as you need to, the mysterious realms of the flutes pure soulful tones are always there when you need them and if you have a flute that music is just a breath away, it is instant music, just add air, keep one in the car, keep one on the couch and play during the commercials while streaming your favorite shows, play one on your work break, take it on a hike, you can take a flute anywhere you want and a flute can take you to places you would never believe, and just like poetry a five or six hole flute has no rules, it is like a blank piece of paper it is whatever you want, here is the only real measure of competence… are you having fun? if you answer yes than you are doing it right! there are many accidentals, embellishments, overtones, and ghost notes just hiding in those worlds waiting for you to discover them, waiting for you to share them, the journey of a thousand lightyears begins with a single breath. so breathe with intention, breathe with love, exhale from your heart, there is no need to concern yourself with finding your place in this world when you can find your world deep within you, you know who you will find their… only the people you share it with! now go breathe, inhale with your soul taking in all the peace and wisdom you can, then when you are ready, exhale all of the love and beauty you can, and in the spaces in between… just be… just be you…
